Witnesses testified about compensation practices at financial and non-financial firms. Among the topics addressed were recent bonuses awarded to financial executives at firms that had received federal assistance and possible regulation programs.

During the hearing Chairman Frank said that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, in their current form, are likely to be abolished as Congress looks to reinvent the way houses are financed in the United States close
