Trudy Rubin, Philadelphia Inquirer Foreign Affairs Columnist, talked by video uplink from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania about her recent 3-week trip to Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Ms Rubin included the vote recount in the contested March 7th Iraqi parliamentary election; the recent increase in sectarian violence in Iraq; an update on the war in Afghanistan, including efforts by the U.S. military to work with Pakistan in the current offensive against the Taliban and Islamic militants; and the state of U.S. relations with the Afghan President Hamid Karzai. She also responded to telephone calls and electronic communications.
