Madison Richards, Samantha Noll, and Lauren Nixon, talked from Milwaukee, Wisconsin about their video, I’ve Got the Power, the grand prize-winning video. They are eighth grade students from McKinley Middle Charter School in Racine, Wisconsin.

C-SPAN’s StudentCam is an annual national video documentary competition that encourages students to think seriously about issues that affect our communities and our nation. Students are asked to create a short (5-8 minute) video documentary on one of the country’s greatest strengths or a challenge the country is facing. The local cable company was Time Warner Cable.

They were joined by Kathryn Gerlach, Nuclear Energy Institute Senior Project Manager, who talked about the issue of nuclear energy and its use in the United States and around the world. They both responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. close
