Donald Pease recounts the life of Theodor Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss. The author details Geisel’s childhood in Springfield, Massachusetts, as the son of a German-immigrant family, to his development of the Dr. Seuss persona at Dartmouth College’s student newspaper The Jack-O-Lantern. Professor Pease documents Theodor Geisel’s early career in advertising, his political and social satirical cartoons, and his later success as a children’s author. Donald Pease responded to questions from members of the audience at Norwich Bookstore in Norwich, Vermont. close
