In 2007, Daniele Mastrogiacomo, a reporter for Italy’s La Repubblica, was kidnapped by the Taliban and witnessed his driver being decapitated. He talked about his experiences with Italian journalist Federico Rampini. This event was part of the 2010 PEN World Voices Festival, held annually in New York City. close
