Witnesses testified about the international an regional security threats posed by Hezbollah, including its role in Lebanon and support it receives from Syria and Iran. In their remarks they focused on suggestions that the U.S. attempt diplomatic talks with Hezbollah and other regional powers over the security threats. Former Ambassador Crocker said he opposed Obama administration policies of isolation, advocating engagement with Hezbollah in the same way that Americans had engaged with some former Sunni insurgents in Iraq. close
