President Obama spoke about jobs and the U.S. economy at Gelberg Signs, a sign-making factory in Washington, D.C. He focused on the positive aspects of the most recent unemployment report, citing the seventh straight month of private sector job growth. The report said the economy lost a total of 130,000 jobs in July, mostly due to the end of temporary Census jobs. He also criticized Senate Republicans for delaying a small business lending bill that failed to pass before the August recess. close
