Heather Boushey talked about the underemployment rate, which includes people whose hours have been cut and those who have given up on job searching out of discouragement. The underemployment rate rose to 16.7 percent in August 2010 from 16.5 percent in July 2010. Ms. Boushey also responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. close
