Jeannine Aversa talked about the Federal Reserve’s new plan to pump billions of dollars into the U.S. financial system to jump start the economy. The plan, announced the previous day, followed a two-day meeting of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, and is reported to be more aggressive than anticipated. Ms. Aversa said that some effects of the plan reportedly had already occurred because its announcement had been anticipated for months. She also responded to telephone calls and electronic communications.
