Pulitzer Prize-winning author Thomas Powers, recounts the controversial death of Native American leader, Crazy Horse, who died September 5, 1877, while in the custody of federal troops. The leader of the Lakota, Crazy Horse defeated General Custer at the Battle of Little Bighorn in 1876. Mr. Powers reports on Crazy Horse’s final days amidst a backdrop of Native American and American politics. He responded to questions from members of the audience at the Maine Historical Society in Portland, Maine. close
