Outgoing Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen gave a farewell address to the Irish Parliament. He had recently resigned as party leader, and elections were scheduled for February 25, 2011. He expressed regret over his country’s debt problems, and urged members to conduct a respectful and responsible campaign in the coming weeks.
