Government officials spoke at a digital town hall meeting about the state of the economy and employment policy. Judy Woodruff interviewed each official individually and moderated questions from the audience. Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner said the economy was getting stronger, and although unemployment remained high, businesses were starting to hire. FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski spoke about access to high-speed Internet for businesses. Governor Bob McDonnell spoke about the economy and the impact of possible defense industry cuts in Virginia. Participants responded to questions from the audience and submitted remotely via the Internet. close
