Richard Trumka talked about federal investment in the transportation system as a way to create jobs and spur the U.S. economy, and he responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. He and U.S. Chamber of Commerce CEO Tom Donohue testified together on February 16, 2011, before the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works in support of infrastructure spending. Mr. Trumka also discussed the choice of Charlotte, North Carolina as the the 2012 Democratic National Convention site.
