Arnaud de Borchgrave talked about the political unrest in Libya and responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. Formerly a journalist, he had interviewed Libyan leader Moammar Qadhafi six times over the course of his career. He used his past experiences with the leader to examine his current mental state and its implications for his country. He reacted to a video clip of a statement the previous day by U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon calling for sanctions. He also reacted to a portion of a telephone call that Moammar Qadhafi made to Libyan television on Thursday, February 24, 2011. (Translation courtesy of Al Jazeera Network.) Mr. de Borchgrave discussed how Libya’s current state relates to the larger state of Middle East unrest and he also talked about North Korea. close
