Margie Phelps, legal counsel for Westboro Baptist Church and daughter of church founder Fred Phelps, was interviewed by phone about the Supreme Court 8-1 ruling in favor of the First Amendment right of members of the church to protest at military funerals. Church members believe that U.S. military deaths in Afghanistan and Iraq are caused by U.S. tolerance of homosexuality. Ms. Phelps also responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. close
