Amtrak CEO Joseph Boardman testifies about the company’s 2012 budget request before a House Appropriations Subcommittee. The government-owned corporation continued to operate at a loss, with a 2008 Pew study showing that $32 of each Amtrak ticket was subsidized, on average.
