Jay Carney briefed reporters and answered questions, which were focused on the announcement that the White House will not release photos of Osama bin Laden’s death. "It is not in our national security interests to allow those images, as has been in the past been the case, to become icons to rally opinion against the U.S.," Mr. Carney said. He also stated that the president had consulted members of his national security team about whether to release the photo before making his decision. close
