John Waugh spoke about the complex relationship between President Abraham Lincoln and General George McClellan from the early days of the Civil War when the president appointed General McClellan as commander of the Army of the Potomac to the 1864 presidential election when McClellan ran against Lincoln on an antiwar platform. Mr. Waugh also responded to questions from members of the audience.
