Bob Sonderman, director of the Museum Resource Center, gave a tour of the football field-sized warehouse which houses roughly 2.5 million archaeological objects from National Park locations in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. He showed how a variety of objects are stored, including items from Antietam Battlefield and the Vietnam Memorial. He talked about how the staff collects, catalogues, and maintains artifacts. Marian Creveling demonstrated using the database to search the collections. Mike Antonioni talked about the paleontological objects in the collection. close
