British Prime Minister David Cameron recalled Parliament from its summer recess for an emergency debate on the recent wave of riots in London. He announced to members that homeowners and business owners affected by the riots can receive compensation from the government for their losses and the British Home Affairs committee would hold further hearings on the riots once members returned to Parliament in the fall. Following his remarks, members asked the prime minister about harsher sentencing procedures, parental responsibility, and the influences of social media and mobile technology. close
