Robert Hartwig talked about damage costs from and insurance coverage for Hurricane Irene, and he responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. At the time of the program, estimates of the damage totaled around $7 billion. Other topics included changes to insurance deductibles, the need for reform of the federal government’s flood insurance program, distinctions between the types of water damage covered by flood insurance, and the percentage of homeowners who have flood insurance.
