Rick Rothacker talked about his book Banktown: The Rise and Struggles of Charlotte’s Big Banks. He detailed the role of the Charlotte, North Carolina, companies Bank of America and Wachovia in the 2008 financial crisis and the effect of the crisis on the city of Charlotte. He was interviewed in the banking district of Charlotte.
C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) on their “2011 LCV Cities Tour” were in Charlotte, N.C., on August 29-September 2, 2011, to feature the history and literary life of the city that would host the 2012 Democratic National Convention. Working with the Time Warner local cable affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on BookTV on C-SPAN2. close
