A 1952 film biography was shown of United States Army General Douglas MacArthur who served in World War II as commander of the Allied Forces in the Southwest Pacific. General MacArthur’s military career came to a close in 1951 when President Harry S. Truman relieved him of his command.

This was an episode of the television series “The Big Picture,” produced for the United States Army Office of the Chief of Information by the Army Pictorial Center in the 1950s and '60s. close
