Dana Priest talked about her book Top Secret America: The Rise of the New American Security State. In her book she argues that the top-secret world that the government created in response to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks has become so enormous and secretive that no one knows how much money it costs, how many people it employs, or exactly how many agencies duplicate work being done elsewhere, with the result that the system put in place to keep the United States safe may be putting us it greater danger. She was interviewed by Brenda Bell and responded to questions from members of the audience.
