A nine-foot-tall bronze statue of President Ronald Reagan was unveiled at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport as part of celebrating the centennial of the former president’s birth. Frederick Ryan, Jr., spoke at the dedication, which was attended by former Transportation Secretary Elizabeth Dole, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Chairman Charles Snelling, and Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood.
While attending the ceremony, Sculptor Chas Fagin was interviewed about the design of the statue. Photographs of Mr. Fagan working on the statue were shown, as well as a video clip of President Reagan that Mr. Fagan studied and of other statues he had created. close
