Republican 2012 presidential candidate Michele Bachmann was interviewed by editorial board members of the Des Moines Register. She said waterboarding against suspected terrorists may be “uncomfortable” but that it does not kill anyone. She also called President Obama’s top campaign advisers “generals” and said his recent decision on troops levels in Iraq and Afghanistan were politically motivated, adding, “He’s not listening to General Allen in Afghanistan. He’s not listening to General Austin in Iraq. He’s listening to General Axelrod, and he’s essentially moved CentCom to Chicago.” close
