The House Committee Financial Services Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee held a hearing on the bankruptcy of financial firm MF Global. Witnesses said that of the approximately $1.4 billion in customer funds, about 70% of the original value of those accounts were expected to be recovered. MF Global filed for bankruptcy October 31 following billions of dollars in losses from failed investments in European debt. close
