Civil rights attorney Connie Rice recounts her life and legal career. Ms. Rice, the second cousin of former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, recalls her upbringing and education as well as her numerous court cases that include legal actions against the Los Angeles Police Department and bus and school system. The author also detailed her work to reduce gang violence in Los Angeles and her efforts to produce a dialogue between gang leaders and the police. Ms. Rice responded to questions from members of the audience at Vroman’s Bookstore in Pasadena, California. close
