David Givens talked about the work of the Bureau of Land Management, which is responsible for the stewardship of 245 million surface acres. The BLM not only is responsible for the leasing of land for energy related efforts but also ensures that conservation efforts take place. Most of this land is located in the 12 Western states, including Alaska. He also responded to telephone calls and electronic communications.
