President Obama addressed the nation from Kabul, Afghanistan, on the first anniversary of the killing of terrorist leader Osama bin Laden, and soon after signing an agreement on strategic cooperation with Afghanistan. The agreement said the U.S. would provide aid, advisers and support after NATO combat troops left in 2014.

This was the first presidential address to the nation delivered from an overseas location. The speech was broadcast from a hangar at Baghram Air Base with armored military vehicles as a backdrop. close
