Representative Gwen Moore (D-WI) talked about the House vote on its budget reconciliation bill later in the day, and she responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. The bill was intended to replace the Budget Control Act of 2011, which requires equal cuts between defense and non-defense spending. Representative Moore said that the House bill disproportionately cuts social services programs such as food stamps. She also commented on President Obama’s announcement of his support for same-sex marriage. close
