Eli Saslow talked about his book, Ten Letters: The Stories Americans Tell Their President. He discussed few of the letters that he focused on in his book, and his research for getting the stories, the laborious process of getting a letter to the president, the history of writing to a president, and the way different president’s communicated with Americans. Mr. Saslow also responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. One of the letter writers who was featured in the book, Thomas, called in during the program to talk about the response he received from President Obama regarding his opposition to the 2010 health care law. close
