Patrice Hill talked about unemployment and the economic situation and responded to telephone calls and electronic commumications. The previous day, the Labor Department announced a rise in the unemployment rate to 8.2% from 8.1%. She discussed who and what industries were most affected, plus other related economic news including a revision of the Gross Domestic Product figure for the first quarter from 2.2% to 1.9 percent.
