President Obama spoke to reporters and answered questions about jobs and the economy. He addressed concerns about the European Union debt crisis and called on Congress to pass the jobs bill he submitted to them in September 2011. Responding to one question, he angrily denied that White House officials were the source of national security leaks on alleged terrorist “kill lists” and cyber attacks against Iran’s nuclear program. In response to another question on the economy he responded that “the private sector is doing fine,” but later clarified the statement saying “it is absolutely clear the economy is not doing fine” and that his point was that private-sector growth had outpaced public-sector growth. close
