AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka talked about the 2012 presidential election at a Christian Science Monitor Breakfast event for reporters at the St. Regis Hotel. He said the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision had enabled the labor movement to extend its voter outreach efforts to non-union households for the first time. Mr. Trumka said his organization has set a goal of recruiting 400,000 volunteers, focusing on a door-to-door effort rather than TV advertisements. He responded to questions from the audience. close
