History Curator Cliff Eckle talked about the important role of Ohio in the War of 1812 as he showed objects in the bicentennial exhibit at the Ohio History Center, “The War of 1812: Ohio on the Front Line.” Topics included two battles that took place in Ohio that secured the nation’s border with Canada.
C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2012 LCV Cities Tour” in Columbus, Ohio, on July 9-12 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Time Warner Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on BookTV on C-SPAN2. close
