The Irish Parliament held a three-day public hearing to examine their current abortion law. Committee members heard testimony from medical and legal experts, religious leaders and advocacy groups on recommendations for more clarity in Ireland’s abortion laws. In this panel, maternity doctors and health professionals testified on abortion law in Ireland. Doctors told committee members that “there is a degree of legal uncertainty” and recommended new laws that were “workable and practical” and protected the rights of doctors. close
