Patrick Cronin, a fellow at the Institute of Corean-American Studies, talked about North Korea’s escalating nuclear threat with its recent third nuclear test. Then he was joined by a panel of discussants. They agreed that the U.S. would need a new strategy to respond, what one called a shift from defensive to offensive containment and that the U.S. should apply more pressure on China. The panelists also responded to questions from members of the audience. Sang Joo Kim moderated.

“North Korea’s Nuclear/Missile Threat?” was a presentation at the ICAS Winter Symposium titled “Humanity, Peace and Security - The Korean Peninsula Issues and US National Security” held by the ICAS Liberty Foundation in the Rayburn House Office Building. close
