A statue of Rosa Parks was unveiled and dedicated in Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol. She was the first African-American woman to have a statue in her honor in the Capitol. President Obama and congressional leaders spoke about her life and her contribution to the civil rights movement and the country as a whole. The ceremony included the presentation of the colors and performances by the U.S. Army Chorus and Army String Quartet. close
