Immigration enforcement officials testified on border security and immigration issues. They said a comprehensive immigration bill would make it easier to police U.S. borders. Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Tom Carper (D-DE) said improved border security makes the 2013 debate over immigration policy different from 2006, when Congress failed to pass a bill in part over concerns about illegal border crossings. close
