Bernice King, daughter of Martin Luther King Jr. and CEO of the King Center, and others spoke at a ceremony for the unveiling of the historical marker for Dr. King’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail.” On April 16, 1963, Martin Luther King Jr. wrote his “Letter from Birmingham Jail” while being held in prison for his involvement in the 1963 Birmingham Campaign, a city-wide civil rights protest. close
