Clarence Jones spoke about what it was like to work closely with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., how the Letter from Birmingham Jail was written, and the journey to the March on Washington and King’s “I Have a Dream” speech. He also spoke about the power of political speeches and some of his favorite writers. Mr. Jones is a former adviser and speechwriter to Martin Luther King Jr., and co-authered the book, Behind the Dream: The Making of the Speech that Transformed a Nation. Stanford University hosted this event. close
