Kristina Dunn Johnson, curator of history at the South Carolina Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum, talked about General William T. Sherman’s capture of Columbia, South Carolina during the Civil War, during which he destroyed military targets as well as industry, infrastructure, and civilian property.
C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2013 LCV Cities Tour” in Columbia, South Carolina on April 15-19 to feature the history and literary life of the community.
