Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) talked with Margaret Carlson from Bloomberg News. The senator said he was optimistic that a revised bipartisan bill to expand background checks for gun sales would pass the Senate. The original bill which he co-sponsored with Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA) failed in a 54-46 Senate vote the previous month.
