Derrick Morgan talked about the Heritage Foundation report “The Fiscal Cost of Unlawful Immigrants and Amnesty to the U.S. Taxpayer,"and he responded to telephone calls and electronic communications.*The report states, "Granting amnesty to an estimated 11 million unlawful immigrants will cost taxpayers at least $6.3 trillion.” It cited four types of government benefits and services relevant to the issue: Social Security and Medicare, means-tested welfare benefits, public education, and population-based services such as police, fire and parks. close
