In a portion of the daily news briefing, State Department Spokesman Jen Psaki called a department memo containing allegations of sexual misconduct by diplomats “unsubstantiated.” She was responding to allegations that senior State Department officials covered up or stopped investigations into inappropriate or criminal conduct.

The memo released by a whistleblower to the press contained eight examples of sexual misconduct. These included allegations that an ambassador and other security personnel sought sexual favors from prostitutes and minors. close
