John Strausbaugh talked about his book, The Village: A History of Greenwich Village - 400 Years of Beats and Bohemians, Radicals and Rogues, in which he presents a history of the New York City neighborhood Greenwich Village. In his book, the author reports on 400 years of the neighborhood’s development, from its inception as part of New Amsterdam in the 1600s to its role in the social, political, and cultural movements of the 1960s and its centrality in the gay rights movement. John Strausbaugh spoke at an event hosted by the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation in New York City. close
