Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Dianne Feinstein (D-CA)) and Ranking Member Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) and other senators spoke to reporters about the National Security Agency (NSA) program of collecting metadata on telephone calls and electronic communications following a classified briefing on the subject. Forty-seven senators attended the briefing by NSA Director Keith Alexander and six others, including representatives from the Department of Justice, Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
