Defenders of Proposition 8 argued that the Supreme Court’s denial of their standing left Proposition 8 as part of the law of California and that they were committed to defending it. Then a representative for Edie Windsor in U.S. v. Windsor spoke to reporters about the effect of overturning a provision of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).
