Nina Olson talked about her proposed “apology payments” of up to $1,000 to taxpayers whose cases are mishandled, and a Taxpayer Bill of Rights. Other topics included her National Taxpayer Advocate department within the IRS, and her mid-year report to Congress in which she expressed concern about IRS budget cuts and procedural shortcomings. She also responded to telephone calls and electronic communications.
